IB-865 stopped working after FW update!

Hi,

I have just recently bought an IB-865 card reader. After installing it in my computer, I noticed that there is a FW update (version 0578) for this card reader on raidsonic website.

So I downloaded and run the FW update program (GL3220FW0578UpdateToolSingleDevv1.0.1) but there was a problem: the program took few minutes to run but in the end it reported that the update failed! The carder reader was no longer recognized.

I turned the computer off, disconnected the power cord, reconnected the power cord and boot again. Now the card reader is not even recognized by Windows. In the device manager I see this error "Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed). Running the FW update program again also does not help since it cannot find the device! For the record, I am running Windows 10, 64 bits.

Is there anything I can do? If not, how should I return the card reader and get a replacement? I live in Switzerland.

EDIT: After several on-off sequences, the card reader came back. However, it still sometimes stops working (with the same error: device descriptor request failed). The behavior is random. The only solution is turn the system on and off again and get lucky! I have checked the connectors and they are all firmly in place.

Thanks,
AlefSin

Re: IB-865 stopped working after FW update!

Hello AlefSin,

i think something went very wrong during the
Firmware-update.
At this point, it might be best to contact the support via
www.raidsonic.de. Should be covered by warranty.

Best regards,
Stephan
